Hypnotherapy might sound mystical

but it’s actually a great method whenever regular therapy doesn’t help. The patient is guided into a deep state of relaxation and the therapist helps to create the change the patient is looking for in their life. This is done by the therapist using different guided relaxation techniques, visualizations, and even increased awareness of the mental and physical state, all of which help us slip into this trance. While in this state, a person is able to shut off any outside noise, worry, or distraction and focus in on specific thoughts or tasks. It’s highly effective in a situation where you feel stuck. And that is why we need to train the mind to find ways to get rid of the tension and cravings so that we could follow the diet effortlessly. As a physiotherapist I was sceptical

about NLP at first. But then working with my patients, I started to wonder how we cope with pain and injury so differently and could we ‘learn’ to cope better with our symptoms? and what about other areas of our lives that need improvement? Take a 5 minute yoga break!

I had no idea what being truly sleep deprived meant until I had my first daughter. It was also a cesarean so I couldn’t exercise for 6 weeks. By the time I was allowed to return to yoga and pilates I couldn’t even “find” my core let alone activate it. I put together a short workout with a few exercises using our babies as weight to see how it would go. I definitely found that the days I did a mom and baby workout I had so much more energy than the days that I didn’t. I also found my muscle tone and strength improving each week. It is such a great balance to combine your healthy lifestyle with time spent with your little one.
