I have developed Megginson Method to help people achieve their peak mind and body performance. I am a yoga and pilates trainer, nutrition coach and a life coach and my method guides you to bring your life back to balance.
I started as a personal trainer teaching others to get fit and loose weight. But once they were slim and fit, it didn't make them happier. As a physiotherapist, I worked with patients who suffered from chronic pain that started after a trauma like a divorce or job loss. While they focused on the symptoms, I knew the root cause was deeper than that.
My father taught me to love and accept myself as I am. He was truly content in life. However, he was overweight and did very little exercise. So my belief was that actually it is more important how you think about yourself not the physical appearance. I was pregnant with my first daughter when my father died of a heart attack – never getting to meet his grand-daughter. That was the moment that I realised that it isn’t enough to just be content. It’s really about a balance of your inner state and physical well-being.
I had trained for several months to do a big ski touring race PDG that was to be a huge accomplishment for me. I've just had two kids 18 months apart and sold my business. So I felt that I had lost a part of myself in the process. With all of the training, I was in top shape and was so ready for the challenge. But then two months before the race, I fell skiing and tore my ACL. I was devastated. It was then that I finally understood why so many people never achieve their goals and simply settle. You put your heart and soul into something only to find it fail. So the mind says “I am not doing that again”! We have these moments in life where getting to where you WANT seems impossible but staying where you are will happen even if you do nothing. So it is easier to avoid the effort and the risk. It took every bit of strength to get off the couch every day, to face constant pain and disappointment in order to get stronger. But I did it. And I even came back 2 years later to finish the race and accomplish my ultimate goal.
Now I want to help others get off the couch and accomplish their goals. Thats why I created Megginson Method. It involves:
- mind training system to overcome the core reasons why you have your bad habits, cravings and self-sabotaging behaviour.
- smart nutrition program that’s specific to your body chemistry.
- workout program which is quick and most effective for your specific metabolic needs.
